Testimonials
Richard Anderson, Archives & Collections Lead, Essex Record Office
"Laura's expertise and knowledge of oral history practice, alongside her continued passion for creative and innovative storytelling impressed us.

Laura adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic quickly and efficiently; from adapting our training and volunteer management sessions from in-person to online, to quickly researching remote oral history interviewing equipment and techniques. She worked thoroughly to network across Essex and increased interest in the project with a wide variety of communities and audiences."
Jasmine Allen, Director & Curator, The Stained Glass Museum
"Laura was a pleasure to work with, organised and communicative throughout our community engagement project. Laura's approach to evaluating was open, thoughtful, and reflective. We really enjoyed working with Laura and appreciated her ability to sensitively engage 1:1 with participants in informal ways, and her responsive and adaptable approach to the evaluation framework. She went the extra mile and it was clear she cared about the project which made for a great working relationship"
Emma Daker, Project Manager, Craftspace
"I worked with Laura over 5 months on our project exploring cultural background and family history through designing and jewellery making. Laura was incredibly flexible and responded well to the group's needs, adapting to changes at a moment's notice. Laura worked well with the characters and personalities in the group, as well as building a great rapport with the refugee and migrant women delivering the sessions.

This was my first oral history project and I learnt so much from Laura. She got in-depth interviews with some participants which she wove into a beautiful film with archive footage from the Media Archive of Central England. Laura was a joy to work with, she met all deadlines and contributed to the project creatively and strategically."
Shivaangee Agrawal, Heritage Project Manager, Akademi
"The Oral History Project has been a delight for Akademi, and we have received glowing praise from all of our partners on Laura's diligence, sensitivity and approachability. All of the workshop participants (ranging in age from 6 - 26) were new to oral history and Laura was careful in how she introduced this field of work, adapting delivery to participants' needs.

Children from Y5 & Y6 were able to confidently collect oral histories from elders and community members, and offered peer-feedback, as facilitated by Laura. This project evoked themes of migration, diaspora, identity, and South Asian history, and Laura delivered workshops sensitively."
